Sampling Demonstrator
Sampling and analysis is the process of taking numerous small grabs of oil and gas field samples and performing a variety of tests on them to confirm the product quality and that they comply with all the relevant government regulations, such as the analysis procedure and the resulting compositions to be recorded.
Our Demonstrator
DarbyTech's Sampling Station is manufactured with high-integrity stainless steel pipework and fittings, identical to the real systems used in the Chemical Process, Oil, and Gas Sectors.
For the purpose of teaching, DarbyTechhave reduced the scale on the pressure gauges to reflect lower pressure samples and has not coated the stainless-steel pipework.
The Sampling Station Demonstrator can be used as a standalone demonstrator that can be hooked to a main water supply and a drain to simulate the sampling process. It can also be used as part of DarbyTech's HPOST suite (Hands-on Process Operator Skills Trainer) to take various samples from within the process.
Task-Based Learning System
The Sampling Station will be provided with TBLS (Task-Based Learning System) that will guide the students through many of the industry-standard sampling procedures for simulated sampling activities including:
- Low Temp Non-Hazardous Materials; e.g. cooling water, lube oil, crude oil.
- High Temp Materials; e.g. catalyst, hot oils, hot condensate.
- Hazardous Materials; e.g. acids, caustic, benzene, gasoline.
- Pressured Liquid Bomb Samples; e.g. propane, butane.
- Pressurised gas vapor bomb samples; e.g. hydrogen, natural gas, ethane, absorber off gas.
